Union Industries Announces Name Change to Admiral
Packaging, Inc.
PROVIDENCE, RI, August 1, 2005 -- Union Industries, Inc.,
a nationwide leader in flexible packaging, announces it has
changed its name to Admiral Packaging, Inc. in order to more
accurately reflect its primary line of business and the markets
it serves. As Admiral Packaging, the Company plans to
expand its business through strategic marketing and
manufacturing initiatives, which include recent investments
in state-of-the-art laminating and converting equipment.
The 107-year-old Providence, Rhode Island-based Company
has enjoyed continued success by providing packaging
solutions to a national customer base comprised primarily
of manufacturers of frozen and refrigerated foods, coffee,
baked goods, confections and industrial products. This
success has largely been achieved through an ongoing
investment in the most advanced flexible printing technology
and by placing an emphasis on quality and service, two
hallmarks of the family business for more than four
generations.
"Due to the growth of our packaging business, the name
'Admiral Packaging' more accurately communicates the
type of business we're in now and will continue to be in
for the long term," said Harley A. Frank, President of Admiral
Packaging, Inc. "The new name and corporate identity more
clearly reinforces our position as a progressive, technological
leader in the flexible packaging industry."
The latest example of Admiral's commitment to provide the
highest quality product for its customers was the recent
purchase and installation of its Nordmeccanica Super Duplex
Compact SL laminator, the first of its kind in the United States,
provides quality laminations at speeds up to 2,000 feet
per minute.
"The benefits our customers are already realizing with our
new laminator fulfill our mission to provide innovative, high
quality packaging on time and at competitive prices,"
continued Frank. "When you add our expertise and
experience to the mix, it becomes a winning formula that
is very hard to find in our industry."
Admiral Packaging, Inc., headquartered in Providence, Rhode
Island, has steadily grown to become a leading independent
converter in the flexible printing and laminating business.
Founded as Union Paper Co. by Moses Frank in 1898, the
company expanded its capabilities in 1953 when Bud and
Melvin Frank added a converting division. Today, Admiral
Packaging offers a full range of products and services for the
flexible packaging industry, from printing and laminating to
slitting and converting. Admiral Packaging also continues to
operate Union Paper Company as a wholesale distributor of
packaging materials.
